FOW Bagration Germans Pt3: Listing your Armies

Welcome back Commander!

Today we look at the lists offered to us by Bagration:Germans, as well as the changes which comes with some formations in the book. With the revival of so many nostalgic units from Fortress Europe, packing them into a viable Force might prove a challenge. Today we will be looking at some possible Forces for newbies and veterans alike!

Storm Grenadiers

We look at the new infantry formation, and how they could work in a 100 point list combining both infantry, armour and artillery. The pricing of infantry in Bagration will take some getting used to, with 2 points integrated into each infantry unit, including the Formation Commander.

A force using mobile infantry and a mix of armoured vehicles, the focus would be putting the Panzer IV/70 platoon behind an objective with Storm Grenadiers in front of them. Mobile elements include the Grenadier Scouts, Panzer IVs and Pumas.

On the attack, mobile Panzerwerfers and 8cm Mortars provide both bombardment and smoke barrages. If need be, drop the Pumas for a lighter recon unit, and bring either an OP or the Lucky Command Card. Keep your Grenadier Scouts moving within concealment – Near perpetual 6+ to hit until they pull the trigger makes them a pain to catch.

StuG Assault Gun Battery

Using an Anti-Tank centric playstyle, StuGs can be a proper core for an attacking or defending force.

Attack, attack, attack. Blitz every turn, and let your Panzer IV/70s not be fazed by enemy guns. Dig in and find concealment against heavy tanks, and stare down the eyes of medium ones. Your half-tracks provide the mobility in your hammer, while your tank destroyers focus on removing enemy guns and tanks from the table.
